Kathleen Flemming

Piano study began early for Ms. Flemming and piano teaching has become her lifelong passion.

Ms. Flemming holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles, California, and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She is a member of the Performing Arts Society of Walnut Creek and an advocate for the arts.

Beyond  teaching classical piano,  Kathleen also excels at vocal coaching, theory, composition, improvisation, and teaching how to play the piano by ear.

Ms. Flemming has been a member of the California Music Teachers' Association since 1971.  She strongly supports the Certificate of Merit program for all eligible music students.

When they are ready, Kathleen encourages her students to participate in music competitions, honors recitals, state convention performances, and community outreach programs.

Kathleen is dedicated to the art of music teaching.  She loves working with her students and discovering their unique talents and musical vision.  Her teaching philosophy can best be summaried as "appreciating the student, and then their musical ability".
